This document describes the terms and conditions of Co-op membership. Please read the document and acknowledge your acceptance of the terms during membership sign-up. The food products sold through the Co-op are locally raised and processed. Local refers to the states of Colorado and Kansas. Eastern Plains Natural Foods partners with farmers in both CO and central KS to supplement what we can not raise ourselves. We make use of processing facilities in both CO and KS. And we provide the KS farmers with products raised here in CO for resale there in KS. The food products sold through the Co-op are all
raised naturally without the use of antibiotics.
The heritage poultry products all come from birds raised humanely
on pasture. Many products are seasonal and are only available certain times of the year. They must be ordered in advance for subsequent delivery; once they are sold out for the year, no more will be available till the following year. For example, turkeys and geese. Other products are available year round, but perhaps are not continually available. They still need to be ordered in advance and time allowed for scheduling them into the processing plant. An example of these types of products would be the chickens. Occasionally, products become unavailable unexpectedly during the course of the year. Folks that have ordered those products will be offered similar value substitute products. If this is not acceptable, the order amount or order deposit can be refunded, or the order will be carried over to the next year. Membership fees are not refundable. We set prices in the beginning of the year and try our best to not have them change. Occasionally, we are forced to change the price of a food item during the course of a season. The cost of food items ordered before a price change, but not delivered will not change. Only food items ordered after a price change will have the new price. The frequency of deliveries to pick up locations varies somewhat with the season and the amount of product available. The delivery volume needs to be large enough to warrant the fuel and time expense. Brighton deliveries are about once a month; Denver deliveries are about twice a month.
